If you have not yet cooked on your woodstove, I suggest not going skiing, leaving it unattended, the first time you give it a try. Once you get a sense of how your wood stove will do, go skiing! You’ll return to a warm, earthy smelling home and a hot pot of stew for your cold tired bones.

Latest Autumn Kitchen Creations! Pear and Blueberry Chutneys go really well with holiday meat cuts like ham, pork tenderloin, chicken and turkey.
Our own Mole, the traditional Mexican sauce, is a great way to use those leftover meats from Holiday feasts.

A heart-felt thank you to all our patrons for your support and loyalty this season. It was a tough one but, thanks to you, we made it through. We’re especially grateful for the many fund-raisers and expressions of support after Tropical Storm Irene. The Vermont Farm Disaster Relief Fund really helped us out, as it did many farmers across Vermont. To be a part of this community is truly amazing and a great blessing. We’ll be closed until May 1—hope to see you then—meanwhile, have a happy and healthy holiday and winter.
