What is a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a program that benefits both consumers and farmers.

Securing funds enables us to avoid costly production loans, and plan better for the upcoming season.

As a CSA member, your commitment entitles you to a discount for fresh, and this case frozen, organic produce and meats. You will be securing a food source close to home and providing for the long-term care and security of agricultural land and open space in Vermont.

As a community, we share in the risks and rewards in farming by accepting the fluctuations in the harvest caused by nature.

Read Sharing the Bounty for a well written article about participating in CSA’s.

Debit Style/On-line CSA is Simple!

The debit works like this, you send us a check or make a credit card payment at the Farm Stand for the amount you would like to spend over the 20 week season by August 30th for a 12% discount or September 30th for a 10% discount. The earlier you join, and the higher the sum, the greater the discount will be.

We ask a $200.00 minimum for membership and after October 1st there will not be a discount added to your account, but you may still join us, assuming all shares are not claimed. Additional discounts may become available depending on harvest, for instance we may offer a special on butternut squash if there is an abundant crop this year.

In mid-October you can go to our website where you will have the opportunity to shop for the items you want and the amounts you need to feed your family. The list of available items will be updated regularly and will include root and frozen vegetables, winter greens, beef, pork, and poultry, eggs and specialties like breads, frozen pizza dough and baked goods, jams and pickles, etc. all dependent on how the season goes.

Then email or call us with your order and the sum is deducted from your account.

Suggested contribution ammounts

$350.00 recommended for single folks or couples who do not want many extras, mostly good produce.

$400.00-$500.00, recommended for couples or a family with a couple of children who enjoy the extras or for those interested in the planned meals, see below.

$550.00-$750.00, for those who love good produce, love to cook, have a good size family, enjoy company and entertaining as well.

The only requirement is that all funds must be used by the end of the season, as nothing will be carried into the next year.

Your Order

Each bi-montly pick-up you will receive your order of fresh and frozen farm produce, including broccoli, kale, brussel sprouts, potatoes, squash, pumpkin, onions, celeriac, frozen tomatoes, berries, beef, pork, and sausage, poultry and eggs and our own farm kitchen creations including pesto, salsa, mole, jams, and sauerkraut.
